1978 - Mini Stamps and Office Supplies Inc. was established. Like most businesses, Mini Stamps was established in the basement of the family's rented townhouse. The company started out selling rubber stamps to businesses in the Toronto, Ontario area. The stamps were out sourced from a local manufacturer in Toronto.
Within a short period of time, customers started asking for additional office related items such as office supplies. Mini Stamps and Office Supplies Inc. had now grown out of space in the townhouse and purchased a mid-sized home in order to have a larger basement to facilitate the small stock of commonly used office supply items. Eventually Mini Stamps acquired a small warehouse in the Markham, Ontario area. Mini Stamps at this time was now servicing over 2000 commercial accounts in the Greater Toronto Area.
1990 - Large office supply box stores were drifting into town. Competition had begun. With millions of marketing dollars, these office supply box stores started advertising to consumers the philosophy that they were the cheapest in town. (Not really the case).
1995 - Mini Stamps had to now find an opening in the office supply market. Office Central (Mini Stamps and Office Supplies Inc) soon after realized a niche market that required more than just a great price, but something more important, "Customer Service".
The owners also realized that the name Mini Stamps and office supplies did little for the new target market they would soon be approaching. Hence the name "Office Central" was discovered.
1998 - Office Central joins Office Plus/BPGI, the worlds largest office products buying group. This affiliation allows Office Central to combine its own customer service strategies with Office Plus / BPGI's massive buying power, thus allowing Office Central to compete effectively in the office products marketplace.
2008 - Office Central purchases Preferred Office Products from Concord, ON. During the same period, we merged / acquired 2 other office supply business. Office Central focus’s on its distribution and increases its fleet by adding 3 additional delivery trucks for the Greater Toronto Area.
2009 - Office Centrals growth has allowed the company to expand its warehouse and offices to a new facility in Markham, Ontario. Our industry knowledge and reach is significant. Not only are we part of the largest office products buying group but we hold key positions on the board of directors as well as the administration of the buying group. Our CFO is on the CIS board of directors. Both he and our President are administrators of CIS and key players in the Office Products Industry.
